When it comes to entering the real estate market for the first time, it can be a daunting experience, not to mention an emotional roller-coaster. With so many aspects to consider such as the pressure of getting financial approvals, attending house inspections, finding the right property, placing the winning bid or offer, liaising with real estate agents, getting your finances in order and packing. The list is never-ending, so you can be forgiven for overlooking specific areas.
However, there is one aspect of the buying process that should never be overlooked, and that’s investing in a building inspection, moreover a quality building inspection. With Australian Consumer Law only covering purchases of up to $40,000, there is near to no safety blanket for home buyers. This alone should provide you with enough incentive to book in a building inspection.
A pre-purchase building inspection from Detail Building Inspections will provide you with all the knowledge about a property to make a well-informed and somewhat secure investment decision. Each member of our building inspections team holds Australian credentials and qualifications, so you can rest assured that your report is a document curated by professionals that have the knowledge and opinions you can trust.

The average time of a building inspection is between 1-2 hours. However, this may vary depending on the size and condition of the property.
We encourage all of our clients to be present at the time of the building inspection if possible. Once we are finished, we will take another 20 minutes to walk you through the property to point out defects or potential problems that we have found. This also provides you with a chance to ask any questions you have face to face.
At Detail Building Inspections, we pride ourselves on providing our clients with an extensive and thorough inspection service. In your building inspection report, you can expect to find a collection of findings including all major and minor property faults, as well as accompanying photographic evidence.
The areas of the house we look at include structural elements both inside and out, wet areas, water pressure, roofs and gutters etc. If you have chosen to extend your building inspection service with the addition of a pest inspection, we will look for the presence of termites, any damages caused by termites and current conditions that could attract the pesky little critters in the future.
We accept payment on the day of your inspection. Once your payment clears, you will receive your inspection report. We accept cash, credit cards (Visa and MasterCard) and Eftpos. However, if you do cancel one of our building inspections within 24-hours of your scheduled appointment time, a 50% deposit fee applies.
