Mount Barker Building Inspections

How lucky are we as a city to have the beautiful hills? The lush surroundings, the picturesque Sunday drives, the clear air; all of these make Mount Barker such an incredible place to call home.

Perhaps one of our most famous movie icons put it best when he said, ‘How’s the serenity?’ Not to offend Dale Kerrigan, but I think Mount Barker actually wins out in the scenery department over little old Bonnie Doon.

Indeed, a home is a man’s castle and the lush environment makes Mount Barker one of the best places to live. However, although lovely, the constant tree cover in this area can create a problem that is best identified through one of our building inspections.

Mould

This fungus is no one’s friend. Mould forms in areas that are prone to moisture, meaning houses of Mount Barker make them especially prone to this nasty growth. All it takes is a little bit of dew or rain and the immense tree coverage often means these areas stay damp.

When left untreated, the particles of mould can become airborne; leading to them being inhaled by people or animals inside the house. If this occurs, mould can cause numerous ailments of the skin, eyes and lungs. For anyone with existing respiratory ailments, mould can exacerbate the problem.

Our Mt Barker building inspections don’t just identify the presence of mould; we recognise conditions that are conducive to further growth, which means you can solve the problem before anyone in the household is affected.

Why Mount Barker?

Mount Barker is one of Adelaide’s fastest growing areas, and it’s not hard to see why. The freeway allows for speedy travel time, but the 33km distance to the city centre means residents of Mt Barker feel the positive effects of a quiet and tranquil environment.

The separation from the city does not mean that Mt Barker is inconvenienced. Established in 1839, Mount Barker is indeed its own town. It has five shopping centres, numerous restaurants and cafes, and fantastic historical pubs. This means its residents live with ease.

Great Beer

Who doesn’t like a beautiful beer? Located on Mt Barker Road, in nearby Totness, is a great brewery that is worth a visit. This stunning space provides a sensational spot for a quiet lunch or a brewery tour with a larger group.

While you are there, it would be remiss of you to not go through the tastings of their incredible range. Be prepared for getting there and back though—their delicious India Red Ale has an alcohol content of 7.9% so perhaps an Uber or a minibus is a good option.

Family Friendly

Mount Barker provides a safe and happy environment for families. The number of schools in the immediate area means that you have many options in finding the right place for your kids. Mount Barker Primary School has two campuses to ensure convenience across the town, and Mount Barker High School is well established—having opened in 1908.

Mount Barker Waldorf School and St. Francis de Sales College both provide excellent private schooling options.
